CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, adapted for the stage from the MGM Motion Picture by Jeremy Sams and Ray Broderick with music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman will open at Sydneys Capitol Theatre from the 16th of November. The show will be directed in Australia by Roger Hodgman and features sets and costumes by renowned English designer Anthony Ward. ( more...)

FAUST Airs on PBS' 'Great Performances at the Met,' 5/13

Jonas Kaufmann, Marina Poplavskaya, and René Pape in New Production of Gounods Faust on THIRTEENs Great Performances at the Met, Sunday, May 13 at 12 p.m. on PBS stations, with director Des McAnuff in his Met debut, with Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducting the classic opera for the first time at the Met, Three of the opera worlds leading starsJonas Kaufmann, Marina Poplavskaya, and René Papesing the principal roles in a new production of Gounods Faust, directed by Tony Award winner Des McAnuff in his Met debut. Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts his first Met performances of the opera, which airs on THIRTEENs Great Performances at the Met Sunday, May 13 at 12 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). Quintessence Theatre Group Extends ANTIGONE Through April 1

Quintessence Theatre Groups production of Jean Anouilhs 1943 adaptation of Sophocles ANTIGONE, in a translation by Jeremy Sams, directed by Alexander Burns has been extended to April 1st. ANTIGONE has added performances on Friday, March 30th at 8pm, Saturday, March 31st at 8pm and will now close on Sunday, April 1st at 3pm at the Sedgwick Theate. It's now official that both Michael Crawford and Danielle Hope will both depart the West End production of THE WIZARD OF OZ on February 5, 2012. Both have been with the show since the beginning, and audiences had been following the yellow brick road over the rainbow to see Crawford (as the Wizard) and Danielle Hope (as Dorothy), winner of BBC TV's Over the Rainbow, at The London Palladium where the show began previews in early February and opened in March to great reviews.
