Oscar-Winner Ang Lee to Direct FX's TYRANT Pilot

Coming off of his Academy Award(R) win for Life of Pi, celebrated director Ang Lee will make his television directorial debut with FX, directing the Pilot episode for the highly anticipated drama Tyrant, from Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) Award-winning producers Howard Gordon and Gideon Raff (Homeland), and Emmy-nominated writer/producer Craig Wright (Six Feet Under, Lost). FOX Orders Pilot for New Drama RAKE, Starring Greg Kinnear

Kicking off its drama pilot orders, FOX Broadcasting Company (FOX) has given a pilot order to RAKE, a character-driven comedic drama by Peter Duncan (creator of the original Australian series) and executive-produced by Peter Tolan ('Rescue Me,' 'Analyze This') and Michael Wimer ('2012'). Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Greg Kinnear ('Little Miss Sunshine,' 'The Kennedys') has been cast in the lead role of KEEGAN JOYE, a brilliant, but self-destructive criminal defense lawyer. AFM 2012 Announces Premieres Lineup

The 2012 American Film Market (AFM), set for October 31-November 7 in Santa Monica will screen more than 420 motion pictures, including 77 world premieres and 306 market premieres, for thousands of film buyers and industry professionals from more than 70 countries. Jonathan Wolf, AFM Managing Director and Executive Vice President of the Independent Film & Television Alliance, made the announcement today.
