Ultimately, this was a series of hits and misses. Half the characters and plot points weren’t really needed. Nonetheless, when you boil it down, “Pratfalls” is a great relationship piece. “Pratfalls” is presented by Ground Up Productions at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex’s Dorothy Strelsin Theatre, 312 W. 36th St., NYC. Spring Gala to Honour Vicor Garber Set for May 7 - Actors Company Theatre Season Celebrated

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre will celebrate the success of its critically-acclaimed 2011/12 season and honor the accomplishments of Victor Garber – one of this country’s most versatile actors, at its annual Spring Gala on Monday, May 7th at The Loeb Boathouse Central Park (East 72nd Street & Park Drive North). The celebratory evening will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and the new “Pick-a-Prize” Raffle where attendees can select which prizes they want to win. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. TACT company member Simon Jones will serve as master of ceremonies and introduce the evening’s entertainment and live auction - which includes VIP tickets to the 2013 Australian Open and tickets to the 2013 Olivier Awards in London - set to commence at 8:30 p.m. (more...)

MCC Theater Announces 2012 Playlab Readings Lineup

TACT Announces Wednesday Matinees for LOST IN YONKERS

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre (Scott Alan Evans, Cynthia Harris and Jenn Thompson, Co-Artistic Directors), the critically-acclaimed Off-Broadway company “dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit,” announced today that due to a demand for tickets, two weekday matinee performances (Wednesday, April 4 & 11 at 2pm), have been added for Lost in Yonkers, the final production of the company’s 2011/12 season. Directed by TACT Co-Artistic Director Jenn Thompson, performances began at Theatre Row’s Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Tuesday, March 13th, 2012 and the enjoyed an official opening night on Thursday, March 22nd. Building on the success of previous years' events, the festival will feature readings of distinctive new works by Bekah Brunstetter, Marcus Gardley, Steven Levenson, Matthew Schneck, and Sinan Unel. Gardley is this year's Aetna New Voices Fellow at Hartford Stage.
