Musical Mondays Theatre Lab announces a concert of new songs from their upcoming seasons as well as songs from the soon to be released Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlght CD with live performances of brand new theatre songs from the Tony Award-winning Musical Theatre Workshop. The concert event has no admission charge and reservations are not being taken. 4 show Musical Mondays subscribers will receive a complimentary demo sampler copy of the CD. The concert will take place at the Jerry Orbach Theater in the Snapple Theater Center, 210 West 50th at 6:30 PM tonight, Oct 11. (more...)

Today, the spotlight falls upon Angela Gimlin, who is appearing this weekend in the debut work from Nashville's Kirk-Burgess Productions: Prince Gomolvilas' play Mysterious Skin, based on the Scott Heim novel of the same name, that weaves together the interconnected stories of two young men, each struggling to overcome his horrific past. Angela, whose versatility is obvious in the production, plays the distant mother of one of the boys' and a surly Little League functionary who simply doesn't want to be bothered. (more...)

Musical theatre enthusiasts eager for new offerings from bourgeoning songwriters were treated to a smorgasbord of songs at the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop biannual showcase, held November 3 at the Marjorie S Deane Little Theatre in New York. The showcase, presented in association with the Musical Mondays Theatre Lab, featured 14 new songs from a crop of lyricists and composers who are members of the Workshop, deemed 'the Harvard of musical theatre' by the New York Times.
