JACK IN A BOX Online Sitcom Celebrates 2 Years, Releases Newest Episode

Michael Cyril Creighton's award winning online sitcom "JACK IN A BOX" about a frustrated theatre box office manager, currently in its third season, celebrates its 2 Year Anniversary and releases the 23rd episode of the series, entitled "The Date." After 2 years of watching Jack be a sort of snarky, hapless sad sack, it's possible this little dough boy has found love. Or will he ruin it, just like he ruined that audition to play an Adult Baby on Law & Order: SVU? The episode features downtown theatre favorites Paul Thureen (The Debate Society) and Becky Yamamoto (Young Jean Lee's Songs of the Flying Dragon to Heaven). ( more...)

New York Television Festival Announces Winners

The sixth annual New York Television Festival announced the winners of its Independent Pilot Competition, NYTVF People's Choice award, FOX-NYTVF Comedy Script Contest, IFC "Out of the Box" and MTV Animation awards tonight at a ceremony hosted at the SVA Theatre in Manhattan. The winners of the FOX-NYTVF Comedy Script Contest, Austen Earl and Luke Cunningham for "Red Delicious," received a $25,000 prize and a development deal. IFC's "Out of the Box" award winners Matt Yeager and Jeff Skowron received a $25,000 development deal for their pilot "Greg and Donny." The Independent Pilot Competition winners were selected from 42 independent television projects created by writers and producers from across the U.S., Canada and the UK. ( more...)
