BWW Reviews: TITLE OF SHOW from Curly Stache and Balagan
by Jay Irwin - May 08, 2012
A show about two nobodies writing a musical about themselves writing the musical they are in. Sounds a bit self-serving and pandering. They even note that in the course of the play and thats the impression Ive always had of it from the cast recording. And while I still have that impression to an extent, the current production of title of show from Curly Stache Productions and Balagan Theatre showed me a new side of it. A side thats funny and sweet and for the most part keeps itself from being mired in an endless series of in-jokes.

by Beau Higgins - Apr 18, 2012
[title of show] offers a humorous look a the challenges of writing a musical, and chronicles four friends on a funny and harrowing biographical journey from the page to the stage. The New York Times called [title of show] "Broadways most profound exercise in postmodernism

Now a cult-classic among 'theatre-nerds' all over the world, [title of show] features an inventive musical score by Jeff Bowen, an intelligent and witty book by Hunter Bell, and carries a very poignant message about living your dreams, being yourself, and it includes some of the most delightful new songs to make their mark in the American musical theatre canon such as, "Monkeys and Playbills," "Die Vampire, Die," "Part of it All," and the touching ballad, "A Way Back to Then."
