Yesterday, May 24, Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein hosted a special Birthday party on to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Little / Helen Hayes Theatre, which opened on March 12, 1912 with John Galsworthys play The Pigeon. Harvey Fierstein to Host Helen Hayes Theatre's 100th Anniversary Celebration

Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein will host a special Birthday party on Thursday, May 24th to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Little / Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street), which opened on March 12, 1912 with John Galsworthys play The Pigeon. This tale about a slave trader who sees the light and dedicates himself to ending slavery will run from May 17 through June 10, 2012 at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn., Goodspeeds home for developing new works. The hilarious show has a 12-week run at the Bathurst St. Theatre from October 12, 2011-January 1, 2012. (The media performance is Wednesday, October 19 at 7pm.). For two decades Friends In Deed has offered emotional and spiritual support for all those affected by life threatening illness, caregiving and grief. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Friends In Deed, Emmy Award winner Sarah Jessica Parker and Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick hosted "A Little Jurassic Treasure Hunt," a once-in-a-lifetime event last night, October 3, 2011. At this special benefit event, guests formed teams to trace clues through the American Museum of Natural History in a specially devised hunt created by legendary composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim. Following a cocktail reception in The Museum's Hall of Mammals, the hunt took place in the Hall of Saurischian Dinosaurs and the Hall of Ornithischian Dinosaurs before a dinner reception in the Rose Center for Earth and Space.
