The cast and creators of the Tony nominated musical Hands On A Hardbody were cheered and celebrated when they performed at Birdland on Monday night during the weekly Jim Caruso's Cast Party open mic extravaganza. Co-writer Amanda Green (Tony-nominated for her Hardbody work, as well as Bring It On), Tony nominee Keala Settle, as well as Kathleen Monteleone, Jim Newman, and Jay Armstrong Johnson all sang from the show, guaranteeing some future record sales just from the few hundred folks enjoying Cast Party. On Monday, May 13 Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for Theatre honored Ruth and Stephen Hendel and Ming Cho Lee at their Gala Evening. The evening was held at the Angel Orensanz Foundation (172 Norfolk Street) in New York City, cocktails started at 6pm and dinner started at 7pm. Jessica Hecht was the emcee of the evening; the Gala co-chairs were playwright Lydia R. Diamond and interior designer Jasmine M. Keller. The Gala honorary chairs were Anne Kaufman, Obie award-winning director; Nelle Nugent, Broadway producer; Judith O. Rubin, chairman of the board of Playwrights Horizons; and Liz Smith, gossip columnist. The event hosted 200 guests and surpassed its financial goal. Scroll down for photos from the gala! (more...)

Prospect Theater Company presents its annual gala, 2013's Spring Soiree, in the Harbor View Room at Battery Gardens, a beautiful and unique waterside location nestled at the southernmost corner of Battery Park. This special one-night only event will be held on Monday, May 6 from 6pm - 10:30pm, with an 8pm concert performance, to feature performances by Broadway friends as well as Prospect stars! Guests will be treated to a sneak peek of songs from upcoming 2013 - 2014 Prospect productions, as well as encore performances from previous Prospect shows.
