BROADWAY BACKWARDS, the once-a-year celebration of the LGBT community, brought down the house Monday while raising a record-setting $347,060 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center. This year's total surpassed the previous record of $329,000, set last year.

This year's star-studded BROADWAY BACKWARDS took place last night, March 18, 2013 at the Palace Theater (1564 Broadway). BROADWAY BACKWARDS is a one-night-only performance produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and benefiting BC/EFA and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York. Now in its eighth year, BROADWAY BACKWARDS is an annual celebration where gays and lesbians see their stories onstage, told through the great songs of musical theatre, sung by their favorite Broadway performers.

An extremely limited number of $20 rush tickets to this year's star-studded BROADWAY BACKWARDS will be released for sale at 6:30 PM Monday, March 18, 2013. The rush tickets will be sold in the lobby of the Palace Theater (1564 Broadway). They will not be available at the box office. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, cash only and are limited to two tickets per person. The show begins at 8 PM. (more...)

New York's Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announces the Los Angeles premiere of the critically-acclaimed play Slipping, written and directed by Daniel Talbott, which will begin previews Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Elephant Stages' Lillian Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Atlantic Theater Company just presented their annual Spring Gala Songs in Celebration of a New Day on last night, February 25, 2013 at 583 Park Avenue. Songs in Celebration of a New Day was an evening of original music celebrating the future of Atlantic Theater Company, newly reinvigorated in its renovated home at the Linda Gross Theater. The Gala featured special appearances by Michael Cerveris, Christine Lahti, Jan Maxwell, Tonya Pinkins and David Pittu, toasting the $8.3M renovation of Atlantic's mainstage theater and the bright future of the award-winning off-Broadway theater company.
