ELTC to Screen AMAZING GRACE Alongside LOST ON THE NATCHEZ TRACE Premiere, 6/30 by BWW News Desk - Jun 10, 2013
'Amazing Grace,' directed by Michael Apted, is the film about this historic stand against slavery. Chosen to be the closing-night gala attraction at the 2006 Toronto Film Festival, East Lynne Theater Company and The Cape May Film Society have selected it to accompany the New Jersey premiere of ELTC's production of 'Lost on the Natchez Trace' and to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of America's Emancipation Proclamation. ELTC Kicks Off 2013 Season with LOST ON THE NATCHEZ TRACE, 6/12 by BWW News Desk - May 28, 2013
Titled 'Lost on the Natchez Trace,' written by Jan Buttram, the award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company is giving this provocative new play it's New Jersey premiere, opening on Wednesday, June 12 , and running through July 20. There are four shows a week, Wednesdays through Saturdays, except there is no show on Thursday, July 4 and an added show on Sunday, July 7. All curtain times are 8:30p.m. (more...)

Take tea at one of Cape May's finest inns or tea shops, indulge in homemade tasty treats, and listen to stories by famous American authors, like O. Henry and Louisa May Alcott, all for only $10.00. The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company has exciting shows lined up for its thirty-third season. It includes the usual world premiere ('The Legend of Sleepy Hollow'), a New Jersey premiere ('Lost on the Natchez Trace'), a comedy by a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright ('The Late Christopher Bean'), an American detective joins Holmes in our popular radio-style productions ('Holmes and Carter Mysteries') and our enchanting storytelling holiday show ('Christmas with Harte and O. Henry.') Special events include our standing-room-only Student Workshop Production and A Sunday Film Series that includes incredible silent features with live organ accompaniment. Our performance venue is the historic First Presbyterian Church of Cape May, located at the corner of Decatur and Hughes, between the beach and the Washington Street Mall. (more...)

Abingdon Theatre Company Announces New Managing Director by BWW News Desk - Jan 09, 2013
Heather Henderson recently accepted the position of Managing Director with Abingdon Theatre Company, now in its 20th Season of developing and producing new plays by American playwrights, announces Artistic Director Jan Buttram. For the past 18 months, Ms. Henderson served as Abingdon's Director of Development. She replaces Samuel J. Bellinger who recently became Director of Finance at Second Stage Theatre. Mr. Bellinger served as Abingdon's Managing Director for 19 years and will continue to serve on Abingdon's Board of Directors. Prior to joining Abingdon's staff, Ms. Henderson had a multi-faceted career in the financial sector, spending the bulk of her time sitting on a foreign exchange trading floor as a representative of the Private Banking Group for Citibank, working predominantly with Latin American clientele. She also served as a team member of UBS Financial Services, managing assets that ran the gamut from retail to ultra high net worth individuals. She also worked with high net worth families creating customized tax efficient wealth management strategies to meet their special needs, utilizing long-term focus and advising clients in proper estate and tax planning. Prior to joining UBS, she was a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch. (more...)

Abingdon Theatre Honors Rob Winn Anderson with 2012 Christopher Brian Wolk Award for THE TENTH SON Tonight by BWW News Desk - Dec 10, 2012
Abingdon Theatre Company, in an ongoing effort to recognize excellence in playwriting, established the Christopher Brian Wolk Award to be presented annually to an American writer of a full-length play not produced in New York City. The award is based upon the writer's demonstrated ability to reach a mature artistic vision using theatre. Playwright Rob Winn Anderson will receive the $1,000 cash award and a staged reading of his script The Tenth Son, directed by Jules Ochoa, at the award ceremony, tonight, December 10, starting at 7:00PM in the June Havoc Theatre, 312 West 36th Street, Midtown, Manhattan.
