The Roustabouts Theatre Company presents a comic retelling of a classic romance WITHERING HEIGHTS, based on 'Withering Heights' by Emily Bronte, written and performed by Phil Johnson and Omri Schein and directed by David Ellenstein, bringing together two notable local actors and North Coast Rep's Artistic Director to direct the World Premiere at Diversionary Theatre from June 11 to July 9.

Center Theatre Group, Los Angeles' leading non-profit theatre company and one of the nation's preeminent arts and cultural organizations, announced today its 50th anniversary celebration to be hosted on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Ahmanson Theatre.

Actor Javier Muñoz, star of Broadway's hit show Hamilton and HIV/AIDS activist, will be recognized with the 2017 Ilka Award, at the Latino Commission on AIDS' Annual Cielo gala to be celebrated Friday, April 28 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

Considered the perfect musical comedy, Guys and Dolls, takes the stage at The Wick Theatre from March 9th through April 9th. Based on the short stories of Damon Runyon,  with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, Guys and Dolls won the Tony Award for Best Musical, ran for 1,200 performances on Broadway, and became an Oscar nominated film starring Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra. Acclaimed box office star, producer and humanitarian Richard Gere will open the 34th edition of Miami Dade College's Miami Film Festival on March 3, 2017, followed by an Opening Night Gala screening of his new film, Norman: The Moderate Rise and Tragic Fall of a New York Fixer, directed by 2-time Oscar-nominated Israeli filmmaker Joseph Cedar, with the KORBEL Opening Night Party to follow at Miami's Historic Alfred I. Dupont Building.

Due to extraordinary ticket sales, Center Theatre Group's 'Zoot Suit' has announced a second one-week extension. Performances will now continue through March 26, 2017, at the Mark Taper Forum. Previews for 'Zoot Suit' began January 31. Written and directed by Luis Valdez, 'Zoot Suit' is presented in association with El Teatro Campesino. The Sol Project, the new New York-based theater collective raising visibility for Latinx playwrights, has received funding to support the initiative's first production, Hilary Bettis's Alligator, directed by Elena Araoz, presented in collaboration with New Georges at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at A.R.T./New York Theatres, November 27-December 18, 2016.

Center Theatre Group celebrates 50 years in the iconic Mark Taper Forum with the 2017-2018 season announced today by Artistic Director Michael Ritchie. The new season features five plays that represent the past, present and future of the theatre, plus a special immersive event on the streets of Los Angeles.

Closing out a spectacular 9th season at Long Island's John W. Engeman Theatre is a first-rate incarnation of the Tony winning musical Thoroughly Modern Millie. Is this show done consistently? Perhaps. But let me tell you everything about this production, running through July 10th, is absolutely top-notch and certainly a must-see for this season.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW - Broadway's Supper Club - just presented the return of BENJAMIN EAKELEY and his acclaimed solo concert debut, 'BROADWAY SWINGER,' on last night, May 9. When the show premiered to a sold-out house in January, Eakeley was praised for his 'bewitching stage presence' with 'decidedly sensual power and lush jazz vocals' by BroadwayWorld.com. Currently appearing on Broadway in She Loves Me, Eakeley and his four-piece jazz band reinterpret classic songs from the 1960s in a nightclub act that chronicles the American stage's evolution from conservative to carefree. 'BROADWAY SWINGER,' co-written byTim Murray (50 Shades: The Musical), is a groovy romp through the decade that gave us Oliver!, Cabaret, Hair and Promises, Promises. True to its name, this swingin' show examines shifting attitudes toward relationships and sex as it explores life, love and everything in between.
