Music Mountain's Summer Festival Continues with Penderecki String Quartet & Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, 7/13-14

Celebrate the summer at Music Mountain, America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, when it welcomes back two acclaimed groups: HBO's favorite 1920's dance band Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks on Saturday, July 13 (6:30PM) and the Penderecki String Quartet performing Warner, Dvorak, and Bartok on Sunday, July 14 (3PM) with guest artist Pamela Mia Paul, piano. For 84 years, Music Mountain has brought chamber music to audiences of all ages and its Jazz, Big Band, and Country concerts are additional examples of the diverse musical talents and genres that perform at Gordon Hall each season. Summer concerts are scheduled through September 8.

Music Mountain Features New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players Tonight

America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, Music Mountain, continues its 84th season with America's foremost Gilbert & Sullivan repertory ensemble, the New YorK Gilbert & Sullivan Players, tonight, June 22nd (6:30PM) ----And for Anglo enthusiasts, there is a special pre-Concert 1880's British themed dinner at the Falls Village Inn slated for 5PM. Also this weekend are two exceptional concerts on Sunday June 23rd: the acclaimed Hausmann String Quartet at3PM, with guest artist Jonathan Yates, piano and at 5:30pm,Tobias Steymans, violin and Victoria Schwartzman, piano, will play Leclair, Beethoven & Strauss. Music Mountain's 13-week schedule will feature seventeen Chamber Music concerts, a twilight series of Jazz, Big Band and Country Music concerts, and the first ever Folk Music Jamboree.

A variety of musical traditions will be on display when America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival Music Mountain welcomes celebrated pianist Evans Haile hosting a musical cocktail party, filled with devilish wit, humor, glittering piano virtuosity on Saturday, July 6 (6:30PM) followed by an encore appearance by the St. Petersburg String Quartet on Sunday, July 7 (3PM) with guest artist Ilya Yakushev, piano. This weekend's offerings are a fine example of how Music Mountain brings back favorite quartets, and welcomes new performers with scheduled summer concerts through September 8th.

Celebrate the July 4th spirit early at America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, Music Mountain, when they resume their annual Twilight Series with Jive By Five on Saturday, June 29th (6:30PM) followed by the acclaimed St. Petersburg String Quartet performing a special Mozart / Shostakovich / Schubert program for another exquisite afternoon performance on June 30th (3PM). For the third summer, the popular and crowd-pleasing 'twilight' series will bring Jazz, Big Band and Country Music to Gordon Hall, in addition to the numerous string quartets that will perform in Falls Village through September 8th.

I Was Drunk That Day is an exploratory (staged) reading of several early crime and suspense stories by Anton Chekhov including 'Conversation of a Drunken Man with a Sober Devil', 'Evildoer', and 'The Wallet'. Assembled, adapted and directed by Darrell Larson, most of the featured stories translated into English for the first time - just last year.
