The Nederlander Organization and Pantages Theatre, Hollywood have announced that the 2nd Annual JERRY HERMAN AWARDS, a celebration in the achievement and excellence in high school musical theatre in Los Angeles will be hosted at the Pantages Theatre on Sunday May 19, 2013 at 7pm. Red Carpet celebrity arrivals will begin at 6pm on Sunday evening. Single tickets for this awards celebration are now on sale to the general public. (more...)

Shout! Broadway has announced that the New 2012 Broadway Cast Recording for ANNIE is available for purchase at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway between 46th and 47th Streets), beginning tonight, May 7. The merchandise stand is open to the public one hour prior to performance. Digital release will be on Tuesday, May 28. The recording will be released to national retail outlets on Tuesday, July 2. The National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) has announced that its 5th annual talent showcase will take place on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 7:30pm at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre (200 W 45th St). At this 'Super Bowl' of amateur musical theater, student winners of awards competitions that take place across the United States will perform songs exclusively from the musical theater canon in the quest to win the coveted title of Best Performance by an Actress or Best Performance by an Actor and a Jimmy Award, named for legendary Broadway producer/theater owner James M. Nederlander, in recognition of his generous support of young artists. (more...)

Broadway In Chicago has announced the two award recipients from the Second Annual Illinois High School Musical Theater Awards: John Clay III from Oak Park, Ill. (Oak Park River Forest High School) and Taylor Marie Sherry from St. Charles, Ill. Broadway In Chicago has announced the twenty-four finalists for the Second Annual Illinois High School Musical Theater Awards in celebration of outstanding achievement in high school musical theater performances. The finalists (12 young actors & 12 young actresses) have been invited to participate in the Awards program, which will be held at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E. Headlining the Broadway San Jose season will be a three-week run of WICKED, the Tony Award winning musical that maintains its position as the top selling musical on Broadway, nine years after its premiere. The 2013 Tommy Tune Awards winners have been announced! To a crowd of more than 2,500 people, Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) declared the winners of TUTS' eleventh annual Tommy Tune Awards on the evening of Tuesday, April 16, at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. Adding extra excitement to the evening, the award ceremony's namesake and nine-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune made a special appearance to kick off the show and to present the night's top honor. Denver Center Attractions' The Bobby G Awards Joins NHSMTA; Deadline Extends to 2/8

Denver Center Attractions The Bobby G Awards, a regional high school musical theatre awards program, joins The National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) as a participating program for 2013. Due to this exciting announcement, the deadline for public and private high schools in the seven county Denver metro to apply has been extended to February 8.
