Photo Flash: Opening NIght Of BUDDY At La Mirada

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment present the fourth production and the "rocking-est" show of La Mirada Theatre's 2009-2010 season, BUDDY - The Buddy Holly Story, written by Alan Janes & Rob Bettinson with choreography by Dana Solimando, musical direction by Darryl Archibald and directed by Glenn Casale. BUDDY - The Buddy Holly Story will began performances on Friday, April 16 and officially opened on Saturday, April 17. The production will run through Sunday, May 2 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Boulevard in La Mirada. ( more...)

Silber, Patteri and Walsh to Star in Reprise's CAROUSEL

The 2009-2010 season of Reprise Theatre Company continues with Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Carousel," January 26 to February 7 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. Alexandra Silber stars as Julie Jordan, direct from her critically acclaimed portrayal of Julie Jordan in "Carousel" at the Savoy Theatre in London's West End (TMA Award - Best Actress). Silber is joined by Robert Patteri as Billy Bigelow ("Scarlet Pimpernel," "Beauty and the Beast".) Veteran character actor M. Emmet Walsh appears as the Starkeeper. Michael Michetti, co-artistic director of The Theatre at Boston Court, will direct, with choreography by Lee Martino and musical direction by Darryl Archibald.

The Young Professionals Committee of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, New York City Affiliate will present The Pink Campaign on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd St). This one-night only event will take place on Monday, May 4, 2009 and will be an inspirational Broadway benefit performance filling the stage with original music and theatre that explores the ways in which breast cancer touches people's lives. Star of stage and screen, Cynthia Nixon, has joined the cast of The Pink Campaign on Broadway - an inspirational Broadway benefit performance filling the stage with original music and theatre that explores the ways in which breast cancer touches people's lives. Other new additions to the evening include actors Will Rogers ("Gossip Girl," From Up Here) and Charles Shaughnessy (Urinetown, "The Nanny") and directors Michael Berresse ([title of show]) and Marc Bruni (White Christmas). An invitation-only staged reading of the new play UNDER MY SKIN will be presented January 26th at 3 p.m. at Ripley Grier Studios 520 Eighth Avenue 16th Floor, New York, NY.
The New York premiere reading of Robert Sternin and Prudence Fraser's outrageous new comedy about "sex cancer and the health care business" is being produced by Heather Provost ( [title of show], reasons to be pretty, "Reality Check") after a successful reading in Los Angeles.
Best known for their many successes as writer/producers for network television, Sternin and Fraser have written shows for CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX and the WB, producing hundreds of episodes of primetime television. They have also created and developed over a dozen series. Credits include "Alice," "Three's Company," "Who's the Boss?" "The Charmings," "Married People," "Live-In," "The Simple Life," "Run of the House," and "The Nanny," which they co-created and executive produced with series star Fran Drescher.
Sternin and Fraser recently collaborated with Hall of Fame songwriter Jeff Barry on the stage musical The Girl Who Would Be King, which premiered at the Granada Theater in Santa Barbara and went on to be seen at the Stamford Center for the Arts and Riverside Theater in Vero Beach, Florida.
