FST continues the Summer Mainstage season with the AWARD WINNING SOUTHWESTERN REGIONAL PREMIERE of The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey by James Lecesne. This inspiring and uplifting one-man production runs from July 5 through August 6 in the Keating Theatre.

Acclaimed by audiences and critics alike last summer, James Lecesne returns for a limited run of The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey, July 13-15, 2017 at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater. Written and performed by Lecesne, the one man play runs at 8:00 p.m. for three performances only.

As previously announced, Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, opens its 2017/18 season with the World Premiere of TREVOR the musical.

Last night The Trevor Project hosted its 2017 TrevorLIVE New York gala at the Marriot Marquis in Times Square. The event featured special performances by Grammy Award-winning rock band Imagine Dragons and Broadway stars Shoshana Bean and Jeremy Jordan.

TheaterWork's production of the musical "Next to Normal" led the nominations for the 27th annual Connecticut Critics Circle Awards event to be held Monday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart University's Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts in Fairfield.

The Trevor Project will present musician Dan Reynolds with the Trevor Hero Honoree, Deloitte with 20/20 Award, and marriage equality champion Edie Windsor with the Icon Award at the TrevorLIVE New York 2017 fundraiser to raise awareness of suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ youth. The event will also feature performances by Shoshana Bean, Dana Goldberg, Jeremy Jordan, and a special extended performance by Grammy Award-winning rock band, Imagine Dragons.

Dale Soules, who plays the role of no-nonsense inmate Frieda Berlin on the hit Netflix series ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, has been promoted to series regular for the upcoming sixth season.

Abingdon Theatre Company continues its Ghostlight Reading Series with readings of THE SUBJECT by Chisa Hutchinson and directed by Jade King Carroll on Monday, June 5th at 7pm and CARLO AT THE WEDDING by Bryna Turner and directed by Jenna Worsham on Monday, June 12th at 7pm.

On Thursday, May 25, DALE SOULES will participate in a Q & A panel for the International Filmmaker Project's screening of AWOL at the Made In NY Media Center by IFP, 30 John Street, Brooklyn, NY at 7:00 PM.

The Old Globe today announced its 2017-2018 Season, which will kick off with the world premiere musical Benny & Joon, with book by Kirsten Guenther, music by Nolan Gasser, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein.
