The brand-new Lexington Theatre Company is thrilled to announce that casting is complete for its inaugural production of 42nd Street. Tony Award Winner Karen Ziemba, will play Dorothy Brock, alongside other Broadway veterans and up-and-coming actors. 42nd Street is presented by Variety Live at The Opera House with Co-Producing Sponsor Kentucky One Health, and runs tonight, July 23, through July 26 at the Lexington Opera House.
The Cape Playhouse to Continue 89th Season with MY FAIR LADY

The oldest professional summer theater in America, The Cape Playhouse, presents its first-ever Playhouse production of Lerner and Loewe's triumph - My Fair Lady - July 28 through August 8. Tony Nominee Hunter Foster makes his Cape Playhouse directorial debut with the unforgettable story of Eliza Doolittle, the Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from Professor Henry Higgins so that she can pass as a proper lady. Broadway's Ashley Brown and Jeff McCarthy star in what is generally hailed as a masterpiece of musical theatre. Set against the gorgeous scenery and costumes of Edwardian England, My Fair Lady is filled with some of the greatest songs in musical theater history: Wouldn't It Be Loverly?, With a Little Bit of Luck, The Rain in Spain, I Could Have Danced All Night, On the Street Where You Live, Get Me to the Church on Time and I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face. Lorin Latarro choreographs and Nick DeGregorio is the musical director.

It's one of the giddy pleasures of being an actor-dress up! And there are few periods that are quite as distinctive and fun as the 18th century. In this week's vlog post, I have my first fitting for my John Adams costume with designer Gail Baldoni.

My visit to the Massachusetts Historical Society was so fascinating that I had to devote two vlog posts to it! Librarian Peter Drummey and his colleague Sara Georgini know as much about the show 1776 as they do about the true history and the real John Adams. And they have great affection for the musical, pointing out some of the departures from the true story the writers took in creating a dramatically pleasing piece of theatre.

Greg Edwards & Andy Sandberg's acclaimed two-actor, 30-character comedy about travel agents and the people they serve, Craving for Travel, now making its world premiere at the Peter J. Sharp Theater (416 W. 42nd Street, NYC), will close as scheduled this Sunday, February 9. The play is commissioned and produced by Jim Strong, one of America's leading luxury travel agents, and directed by Sandberg.
