Ravinia to Celebrate Audience with Customer Appreciation Day, 5/18 by BWW News Desk - May 03, 2013
Ravinia kicks off the summer with Customer Appreciation Day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, a day filled with discounts and the chance to purchase limited added Pavilion side seating to sold-out concerts, as well as promotions and samples from Ravinia's supporters and sponsored advertisers. This is the first day that Ravinia's Box Office is officially open for walk-up sales, and all in-person purchases will be discounted by 20 percent (discounts are not available for the July 27 Gala Benefit Evening), making reserved seats for some shows as low as $8. The $7 service fee for ticket orders will also be waived for in-person purchases on May 18. Gates open at 8 a.m. but the Ravinia Box Office opens at 9 a.m. (more...)

Recorded live at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., this concert honors the music and the man, with performances of 'This Land Is Your Land,' 'This Train Is Bound for Glory,' and many other Guthrie greats. Produced and directed by four-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Jim Brown, the centennial concert was produced in collaboration with The GRAMMY Museum Foundation, Woody Guthrie Publications, and The John F. Acclaimed Nashville-based singer-songwriter Holly Williams will keep to The Highway in support of her third album, which continues to garner accolades and is out now on her own Georgiana Records imprint. With U.S. headlining dates throughout April, Williams is slated to play the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Strawberry Music Festival in May and goes on to open for John Prine in June and John Hiatt in July. Olympia Entertainment announces the return of Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band to Comerica Park on Saturday, July 20 at 7:30 p.m., as part of Jimmy Buffett's "Songs from St. Somewhere Tour 2013" with special guest Jackson Browne and His Band.
