The best of Broadway will be presented FREE on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with "106.7 Lite FM's Broadway in Bryant Park 2012" - a lunchtime series beginning today, July 12 at 12:30 p.m. on the Bryant Park Stage. Sponsored by Resorts World Casino New York City and hosted by Lite FM's on-air personalities, the twelfth annual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances will run through August 16.

Producers of The Gershwins' PORGY AND BESS just announced that thanks to a generous donation from the families of George and Ira Gershwin, 2,250 high school students from New York City Public Schools will be coming to see the show on Wednesday matinees from March through May. The event kicked off yesterday, March 13, with a special event that involved both cast members and teachers and city officials. Medieval Mystery Plays Get Modern Twist for Christmas in the Streets of New York for Strangers and Other Angels
Theatre-lovers, theologians, strangers and other angels are invited into the streets of New York for a free theatrical event that mines the story of the first Christmas and celebrates the abundance of community. Starting at the Museum of the City of New York (located at 5th Avenue at 104th Street) on Saturday, December 6th at 4 p.m., Compagnia de' Colombari, an international collective of performing artists, including Tony and Obie Award-winners and acclaimed musicians, will present Strangers and Other Angels, the medieval mystery play vividly re-imagined for the 21st century. THE LADY IN PENTHOUSE B opened on July 25th, 2008 with book & lyrics by Peter Napolitano and music by Matthew Ward. The cast features Nancy Dussault (Into the Woods, Side by Side by Sondheim, Do Re Mi (Tony Nomination, Theatre World Award) and Bajour (Tony nomination), TV's 'Too Close for Comfort') as Lady Susan with Stephen Bienskie (Chess and Cats), Michael Cone (La Boheme, Rags and Brigadoon) Gordon Stanley (Cabaret, Ragtime and Beauty and the Beast), JD Webster (Wonderful Town, Ragtime and Showboat) and Sally Wilfert (Assassins). Encores! Follies, with Clark, Murphy, Etc., Runs Feb. 8-12 by BWW News Desk - Jan 25, 2007
New York City Center's Encores! 2007 Season pays tribute to the 100th Anniversary of the first Ziegfeld Follies, kicking off the celebration with Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman's legendary 1971 multiple Tony Award-winner, Follies, directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with music direction by Eric Stern. Follies will play for six performances, from February 8 - 12 at New York City Center, 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. (more...)
