Greek mythology meets burlesque, puppetry, and a modern Americana score in the latest original piece from acclaimed ensemble Liars & Believers, creators of last year's gritty hit, 28 Seeds. Minnie's Menagerie, a peculiar Depression-era sideshow, is raking it in with the help of Daedalus's whimsical technology. But when Daedalus's son falls in love with Minnie's daughter, the star attraction, their passion and plans to escape threaten to bring it all crashing down. (more...)

Playwrights Horizons Extends THE FLICK Through April 7 by BWW

Due to popular demand, Playwrights Horizons has announced an extension of its critically-acclaimed, sold out World Premiere production of The Flick, a new play by the heralded Obie Award-winning playwright Annie Baker (Circle Mirror Transformation at PH, The Aliens, her recent adaptation of Uncle Vanya). Originally set to play a limited engagement through Today, March 31, the production has extended to Today, April 7 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street). (more...)

In the spirit of the beloved hit The Black Rider, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) continues the tradition of introducing eclectic, unforgettable musical projects to the stage with the world premiere of Stuck Elevator. Inventively staged by internationally acclaimed artist Chay Yew-and introducing the prodigious work of composer Byron Au Yong and librettist Aaron Jafferis-Stuck Elevator unleashes an evocative collision of stories, sounds, instruments, and ideas. Due to a scheduling conflict, Marc Bruni has withdrawn from directing Hello, Dolly! at the Goodspeed Opera House this season. Daniel Goldstein, director of the recent hit Broadway revival of Godspell, returns to Goodspeed Musicals where he previously directed The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown at The Norma Terris Theatre in 2011. Mr. Goldstein will helm the much-anticipated summer extravaganza Hello, Dolly!. (more...)

The Huntington Theatre Company brings Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning Our Town home to Boston on its 75th anniversary in a landmark staging by Obie Award winner David Cromer (Tribes, Adding Machine). The remount of the acclaimed New York production that features a homegrown cast will inaugurate the Huntington's use of the intimate, 250-seat Roberts Studio Theatre in the Huntington's Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA.
