Off-Broadway's SILENCE! THE MUSICAL will celebrate its 500th performance at the 2 PM matinee this Saturday, May 18th at the Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square. Winner of the 2012 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical, SILENCE! THE MUSICAL is the unauthorized parody of THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, with book by Hunter Bell, music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and direction & choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli. FASHION STAR Crowns its Winner!

In the season finale episode of NBC's "Fashion Star" (Friday, May 10, 8-9 p.m. ET), contestants Hunter Bell, Cassandra Hobbins and Daniel Silverstein were challenged to create a capsule collection for all three retailers. After weeks of hard work, the remaining contestants gave everything they had for a chance to be crowned "Fashion Star." Ultimately, the buyers chose designer Hunter Bell as the next "Fashion Star." Her winning capsule collections will be carried online at Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue and Express and in 50 Macy's locations and 15 Express locations nationwide. (more...)

FASHION STAR Contestants Create 'His & Hers' Line, Win Bids from Macy's, Express

In the eighth episode of NBC's competition show "Fashion Star" (from Friday, April 26, 8 - 9 p.m. ET), the remaining six contestants were presented with a challenge to create a design and alter it to complement both a man and a woman. Designers Silvia Arguello, Cassandra Hobbins, Daniel Silverstein and JesseRay Vasquez and Garrett Gerson all won purchases from the retailers. Designer Hunter Bell was not purchased this week. New York Stage and Film (Johanna Pfaelzer, Artistic Director; Thomas Pearson, Executive Director; Mark Linn-Baker, Max Mayer, Leslie Urdang, Producing Directors) and Vassar College (Ed Cheetham, Producing Director) have announced the line-up of their 2013 Powerhouse Theater Season, which includes new works from actor, writer and prolific, Grammy Award-winning musician Steve Martin and Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of Broadway'sIn the Heights, among many others. The 2013 Powerhouse Theater Season runs from June 21st - July 28th at Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, New York), and a full calendar and description of events are below. In the seventh episode of NBC's reality competition show 'Fashion Star' (from Friday, April 19, 8 - 9 p.m. ET), the contestants were paired once again and challenged to come up with designs that were reminiscent of a 'night out on the town.' In an added twist, the designers were asked to draw inspiration from the beautiful 2013 Fiats that were in the studio that week and then they directed their own photo shoot, along with famed photographer Timothy White. In the sixth episode of NBC's reality competition show 'Fashion Star' from Friday, April 12 (8 - 9 p.m. ET), the contestants worked with the buyers to get a better understanding of what they would like to see from them.
