Today, the spotlight falls upon Travis Kendrick, who continues his run as one of the go-to guys at Clarksville’s Roxy Regional Theatre in The Wedding Singer, opening tonight. Coming up for Travis is the role of Chachi in Happy Days, which will close the company’s 2011-2012 season. Not only an actor, Travis is also a certified yoga instructor, teaching classes around Clarksville and at the Roxy, and he’s choreographer of note, having choreographed Just Another High School Musical at Clarksville’s Northeast High School, Gallantry for Austin Peay State University Opera and he’ll be doing a number for The Roxy’s 101 Dalmatians the Musical later this year. Opera Idaho Announces OKLAHOMA! Cast

Opera Idaho announces an all-Boise cast for its July performances of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! in Concert. Baritone Jason Detwiler and soprano Jena Carpenter will play the lead roles, Curly and Laurey, in performances July 13 and 15 at 7:00pm at the Idaho Botanical Garden. (more...)

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences last night celebrated the life and career of legendary dancer, director and choreographer Gene Kelly on the 100th anniversary of his birth. Film clips, personal remembrances and an exploration of the technology Kelly used to change the look of dance on film were featured at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, hosted by Kelly’s widow, film historian Patricia Ward Kelly. Tom Hanks to Make Broadway Debut in LUCKY GUY in January

Tom Hanks will make his Broadway Debut in LUCKY GUY by Nora Ephron, according to Michael Riedel of the New York Post. The play, previously titled Stories About McAlary, centers on the life of the late New York Post and Daily News columnist Mike McAlary. A full production of the revised script directed by George C. Wolfe is slated for a limited run at the Shubrt theater in January. (more...)
