According to an Equity casting notice, A Christmas Story, The Musical!, which toured the US last year, will land on Broadway this holiday season, playing November 6- Decmber 30. The production, which begins rehearsals in October, will be directed by John Rando, music direction by Ian Eisendrath and choreography by Warren Carlyle. A Christmas Story features a score by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and a book by Joseph Robinette. (more...)

Steven Baruch, Marc Routh, Richard Frankel and Tom Viertel today announced that they are producing PRINCE OF BROADWAY, the new musical celebrating legendary Broadway director and producer Harold “Hal” Prince. The production is directed by 21-time Tony Award winner Harold Prince, co-directed and choreographed by 5-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman, and features a book by Tony Award nominee David Thompson. The revival of the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical comedy HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING will play its final performance today, May 20, 2012. The 50th Anniversary production will have played 30 preview and 473 regular performances at Broadway’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street). The show has seen three leading men in the role of J. Pierrepont Finch—Daniel Radcliffe, Darren Criss and Nick Jonas. On December 4, 1956, an auspicious twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley together. The place was Sun Records' storefront studio in Memphis. The man who made it happen was Sam Phillips, the "Father of Rock 'n' Roll," who discovered them all.
