Tickets are currently on sale for UP Comedy Club's roster of stand-up and sketch shows, and newly added special engagements including: Summer in The Second City (June 21-August 31), a panel presentation and question and answer session with original members of The Playwrights Theatre Club (which later became The Second City) and several appearances as part of TBS Just For Laughs Festival (June 11-June 16). Aziz Ansari, Zoe Saldana, & More Set for Second Season of IFC's COMEDY BANG! BANG!

The second season of Comedy Bang! Bang! kicks off on Friday, July 12 at 10PM ET/PT with 20 all new episodes and a robust line-up of famous faces. The first ten episodes will air from July 12 - September 13, followed by a short fall hiatus before picking back up on Friday, October 18 for ten more episodes. Host Scott Aukerman (co-creator/director/producer, Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis; writer/performer, Mr. Show) and musical cohort Reggie Watts (Conan, Reggie Watts: A Live At Central Park, Jash.com) both return to Comedy Bang! Bang! with their clever take on the well-known format of a late night talk show. (more...)

TBS Just For Laughs Chicago has announced the addition of Russell Brand, Pete Holmes, Paul F. Tompkins, Brian Posehn, Doug Benson, Todd Glass, Scott Adsit, Kevin Dorff, Jon Glaser, TJ & Dave, Horatio Sanz, Matt Walsh, Brad Morris and Joe Nunez to its 5th anniversary festival line-up. America's biggest comedy festival also announced the addition of a second Nick Swardson show at The Vic to accommodate tremendous demand, and director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) will make a special appearance to introduce an advance screening of his new movie The Heat at Kerasotes ShowPlace ICON on June 11. Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company Performs at Alden Theatre, 3/23

The Upright Citizens Brigade, the theatre company that started the careers of comic greats Amy Poehler, Horatio Sanz, Ed Helms and Rob Corddry, has extended its reach beyond its two theatres in New York City and Los Angeles with its touring company. The Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Co. will perform for one night at The Alden in McLean at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 23. Tickets are $30, $20 for McLean tax district residents. FOX Picks Up New Animated Comedy MURDER POLICE for 2013-4 Season

FOX has picked up MURDER POLICE, a new animated comedy that follows a dedicated, but inept detective and his colleagues - some perverted, some corrupt, some just plain lazy - in a twisted city precinct. David A. Goodman (FAMILY GUY) and Jason Ruiz - one of the writers/ animators discovered through the Fox Inkubation program - created the series, which is expected to debut during the 2013-2014 season. Milwaukee Repertory Theater's 2012/13 Season kicks off with the wacky, award-winning musical comedy, Gutenberg! The Musical! Two men, one pianist, thirty baseball caps - and one massively misguided dream! In 1450, in Mainz, Germany, Johann Gutenberg invented the printing press; in 2012, in Nutley, New Jersey, Bud and Doug wrote a big, splashy musical about him, the evil monk trying to stop him and the beautiful girl who loved him. They may not have a cast, an orchestra or a clue, but with an unending supply of enthusiasm, they're pitching their hilarious, 16-song epic to Broadway producers who just might fulfill their bright-eyed ambitions! The play is written by Scott Brown and Anthony King with original Music Direction and Arrangements by T. O. Sterrett. and will be directed by Rep Associate Artist Laura Gordon, who directed last season's delightful production of In the Next Room or the vibrator play. Gutenberg! The Musical! features comedic actor and Rep Associate Artist Gerard Neugent, former Milwaukee Rep Acting Intern Eric Damon Smith and frequent Rep collaborator Musical Director/Pianist Paul Helm.
