A cast of eighteen singing and dancing toys… a loveable Toymaker and his young apprentice… a dastardly team of entrepreneurial villains… and an army of more than one hundred toy soldiers! The Little Orchestra Society presents a rollicking update of Victor Herbert's 1903 holiday extravaganza, BABES IN TOYLAND, Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. James Judd guest conducts the original Herbert score (with some updated lyrics) as vibrant toys come to life to save a run-down toy store from extinction by an evil villain, and to remind us of the true value of friendship, teamwork, helping others, and the power of holiday spirit. The production is directed by John Henry Davis and freshly choreographed by Peggy Hickey. Take a trip to Toyland for the holidays! (more...)

As London gets ready to welcome the world to the 2012 Olympic Games, Edward Hall's five star production of Chariots of Fire opens (3 July 2012) at the West End's Gielgud Theatre following its critically acclaimed sell-out run at Hampstead Theatre. Inspired by Colin Welland's original screenplay, award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett's new adaptation is based on the true story of Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams' inspirational tale of hope, honour and belief. Almost 17,000 stadium seats go on sale today (30 May 2012) for the West End transfer of Chariots of Fire. Following its sell-out run at Hampstead Theatre, Edward Hall's production will open at the Gielgud Theatre on 23 June 2012 where it is currently booking to 10 November 2012. The Hampstead Theatre has announced the world premiere of CHARIOTS OF FIRE. Award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett brings the Olympic story to the stage for the first time in a new adaptation inspired by Colin Welland's original screenplay. Directed by Hampstead Theatre's Artistic Director Edward Hall, CHARIOTS OF FIRE will be performed on a spectacular set by award-winning designer Miriam Buether, which transforms Hampstead Theatre into a stadium, making an immersive experience that evokes the 1924 Paris games. The production will also feature the legendary music of the Vangelis score with additional live music and arrangements by Tony Award-winning composer Jason Carr. (more...)
