Camille Zamora And Hector Del Curto To Celebrate The Impact Of Arts On Westchester Children

Young at Arts, Westchester's most impactful performing arts educational organization, will host its annual gala, Tango Corazon: A Night of Latin Rhythm and Soul, on May 9, 2019. The evening will feature performances by celebrated soprano Camille Zamora, Grammy winning Hector Del Curto Trio, dynamic tango duo Yaisuri and John Hernan and select Young at Arts students. Tango Corazon will serve as a benefit to actualize the greater mission of the program and continue to provide need-based scholarships to students throughout Westchester and The Bronx.

The Pablo Ziegler Trio won the 2018 Grammy® Award for 'Best Latin Jazz Album' with their exciting release Jazz Tango (ZOHO). Ziegler, who honed his piano and composing skills working with legendary fellow Argentinian Astor Piazzolla, continues developing the style of Nuevo Tango. As a celebration of their Grammy-award-winning album, Ziegler's Jazz Tango Trio will be playing a shared program with the Chano Domínguez Trio at the Highline Ballroom, as part of the Blue Note Jazz Festival on June 26 in New York City.

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) announced its 2018/19 season to a packed house in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre earlier this evening. The Orchestra's fourth-annual, free Season Preview Concert once again featured the entire orchestra onstage performing selected excerpts, with emcees Music Director Ward Stare and Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik.

MILWAUKEE, WIS. 01/06/2016– The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, led by guest conductor Christopher Seaman, presents two performances of Stravinsky's musical masterpiece The Firebird this weekend, January 22 and January 23 at 8:00 p.m. at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. Paired with The Firebird is Dukas's “dance poem in one scene”, La Peri. Also programmed are Elgar's overture In the South (Alassio) and Sibelius's Violin Concerto in D minor as performed by Karen Gomyo. Ms. Gomyo has been hailed as “a first-rate artist of real musical command, vitality, brilliance, and intensity,” by the Chicago Tribune.

Soundstreams to Close 2014-15 Season with Latin Music Tribute

Soundstreams concludes its 2014/2015 season with an electrifying afternoon of Latin music in tribute to the 2015 Pan American/Parapan American Games. Artistic Director Lawrence Cherney has assembled an all-star ensemble of world-renowned musicians, including guitar virtuosos Grisha Goryachev and Fabio Zanon, Argentinian bandoneon player Hector Del Curto, Colombian singer Maria Mulata, Canadian pianist and composer Serouj Kradjian, emerging percussionist Sarah Thawer, and Canadian bassist Jeffrey Beecher. Encuentros will explore a wide diversity of Latin music styles, as well as feature two world premieres by Canadian composers Andrew Staniland and Mark Duggan.

The events, which include several world premieres, feature collaborations between Canadian composers and performers and their counterparts from the U.K., United States, Russia, Brazil and Argentina. Lincoln Center Announces OUT OF DOORS 2014 Summer Festival Lineup; Runs 7/20-8/10

The schedule for this summer's Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival, which runs from July 20 to August 10, was announced today by Bill Bragin, Lincoln Center's Director of Public Programming. Nearly 100 free performances will take place across the plazas of Lincoln Center during three weeks. A special Memorial Concert for Pete and Toshi Seeger on July 20 will be followed by the official opening concert on July 23 with Larry Harlow's Hommy: A Latin Opera, the landmark work's first performance in 40 years. WindSync's appearance is part of CAG's 2013 14 Concerts in New York series, which showcases the winners of the 2012 Victor Elmaleh Competition at Weill Hall throughout the season.
