95 WordsPerMinute's BEST OF EVERYTHING Adds Performances at HERE, 10/15 & 20 by BWW News Desk - Oct 12, 2012
Before Fifty Shades of Grey, there was Rona Jaffe's scandalous 1958 bestseller THE BEST OF EVERYTHING. Now this controversial novel, which was the basis for the hit 1959 movie starring Joan Crawford, comes to the stage courtesy of the new theater company 95 WordsPerMinute. It is adapted and directed by Julie Kramer, and developed with actor and writer Amy Wilson. Two additional performances -- Monday, Oct. 15 at 8:30pm & Saturday, Oct. 20 at 4pm -- have been added to the performances schedule at HERE. (more...)

One of the most belovedcharacters of American literature comes to life in an imaginative new adaptation of Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer at Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Twain's enduring paean to the joys of childhood is adapted for the stage by Laura Eason and directed by Jeremy B. Cohen. The production runs January 20-February 12 at Spencer Theatre in the James C. Laura Eason's recent adaptation of Mark Twain's immortal THE ADVENTURES OF TOM SAWYER is an invigorating and captivating work, full of enthusiastic performances and thrilling action. I've seen several different takes on this book, and this is probably the most fun and smartly conceived of them all. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis is currently presenting a production of Eason's play, and it's another top notch production in a season full of terrific choices. (more...)
