The Steppenwolf Season opens with Kafka on the Shore, adapted for the stage and directed by ensemble member Frank Galati, based on the work by Haruki Murakami and featuring ensemble members Francis Guinan and Jon Hill. The season continues with The Seafarer by Conor McPherson, featuring ensemble member John Mahoney. Following is Art by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton. The fourth play is The Tempest by William Shakespeare, directed by ensemble member Tina Landau and featuring ensemble member Frank Galati. Closing the season is Up by Bridget Carpenter, directed by ensemble member Anna D. Shapiro.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced today that - due to the huge demand for tickets - it will extend its acclaimed production of after the quake. Since opening in October, the show has attracted rave reviews and sold-out houses, so it'll keep shaking through December 2.
