FX Announces New Entertainment Network FXX Launching This September

Coming off of his Academy Award(R) win for Life of Pi, celebrated director Ang Lee will make his television directorial debut with FX, directing the Pilot episode for the highly anticipated drama Tyrant, from Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) Award-winning producers HOWARD GORDON and Gideon Raff (Homeland), and Emmy-nominated writer/producer Craig Wright (Six Feet Under, Lost). The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced today the motion picture and long-form television nominations for the 24th Annual Producers Guild Awards. The categories include: The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures; The Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures; and The David L. FX Orders Drama Pilot TYRANT From 'Homeland' Producers

Deadline reports that the FX network has ordered a drama series pilot to be titled TYRANT, from HOWARD GORDON and Gideon Raff, executive producers of 'Homeland' and 'Six Feet Under's Craig Wright.
