Hartford Stage Launches 'Brand:NEW' Festival with Emery, DeVito, Magnussen and More, 10/16

Hartford Stage has announced that Lisa Emery, Lucy DeVito and Billy Magnussen are among the actors who have been cast in their Brand:NEW fall festival, which begins October 16 and runs through October 20.

LAByrinth Theater Company (Stephen Adly Guirgis, Mimi O'Donnell & Yul Vázquez, Artistic Directors and Marieke Gaboury Producing Director) continues its fall season with two annual festivals of free staged readings, the Barn Series (October 6 - October 30, 2009) and Live Nude Plays (October 31 - November 3) the Public Theater (425 Lafayette Street) and is pleased to announce award-winning stage veterans David Morse and Martha Plimpton will appear onstage in readings in October.

20 new stage works, including plays by John Patrick Shanley and Daphne Rubin-Vega, will be featured as part of the upcoming fall reading series offered by the LAByrinth Theatre Company and hosted by The Public Theatre. The tenth annual 'Barn Series' will run from October 6-30, and 'Live Nude Plays' will follow from October 31- November 9.

But despite Mrs. Krebs' attempts to protect her family with scrubbers, masks, and isolation, the delicate balance is brought to the breaking point when her husband's academic career brings a stranger into their safe house. In its New England Premiere, Sick seeps onto the stage as a terrifying family drama filled with dark comedy, mistrust, and shocking realism.'

The Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) is hosting a NEW WORKS READING SERIES to support new plays and emerging playwrights. As part of its mission statement, The Irish Repertory Theatre 'encourages the development of new works focusing on the Irish and Irish American experience, as well as a range of other cultures.' The next of the free staged readings is Rosemary by Jim O'Connor. The reading is on Friday, February 27th at 3 PM, tickets are free, and the event is open to the public. Harrison, Adkins & More To Appear In Berkshire 2009 Season

Berkshire Theatre Festival's 2009 casting consists of some old favorites and some new faces. Randy Harrison will return to star in 'Ghosts', and David Adkins, Colin Lane and Keira Naughton will appear in 'Faith Healer'. 'The Einstein Project' cast will consist of Tommy Schrider and James Barry, while 'Sick' will feature Greg Keller. Stephen DeRosa, David Garrison and more will also make an appearance this season.
