NEXT TO NORMAL Will Close Civic Theatre's 2013-14 Season by BWW News Desk - Apr 01, 2013
Civic Theatre of Allentown will produce the Pulitzer-winning musical "Next to Normal," which will run from May 3 to May 19. Civic's Artistic Director William Sanders directs this "brave, breathtaking" (The New York Times) rock musical written by Brian Yorkey and lyrics by Tom Kitt. Featuring an electrifying pop-rock score of more than 30 songs, "Next to Normal" is an intense, tender, human scale musical that aims straight for the heart. (more...)

Charming Baker's Exhibition LIE DOWN I THINK I LOVE YOU Debuts at Milk Studios in LA by BWW News Desk - Mar 30, 2013
British artist Charming Baker debuted his largest solo exhibition at Milk Studios in Los Angeles last night. Entitled 'Lie Down I Think I Love You,' the exhibit showcasing new work exploring the unpredictable nature of love, is comprised of 20 paintings as well as prints and sculptures. Baker also unveiled a sculptural installation depicting an oversized plastic toy passenger plane. Never having produced a work on such a scale before, this marks a new phase in the artist's oeuvre. Green Day will make their South By Southwest debut today, March 15th, two weeks prior to them hitting the road at a special double feature screening of films at the Paramount Theatre, the world premiere of Broadway Idiot and the Green Day documentary ˇCuatro! Billie Joe Armstrong to Write Songs for THESE PAPER BULLETS Musical at Yale Rep; Opens in March 2014 by BWW News Desk - Mar 14, 2013
According to the New York Times, Broadway veteran and Green Day member Billie Joe Armstrong is set to write songs for 'These Paper Bullets' at Yale Repertory Theater. The show, which is a rock version of 'Much Ado About Nothing,' will premiere in March 2014. The show will be directed by Jackson Gay, and will be about 'a band from Liverpool dealing with romance and the music industry in London.' (more...)
