BRING IT ON, AMERICAN IDIOT & More Set for MPAC's 2013-14 Season

Over 120 performances will be held on stage between July 2013 and June 2014. Highlights include a diverse theatre series featuring Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, Tony-nominated BRING IT ON, Tony-Winning MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, ROCK OF AGES and Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT; contemporary performers such as Michael Bolton, Kenny Loggins, Michael W. Smith and Clint Black; classical artists including Sarah Chang and Itzhak Perlman, comedians including Drew Carey, Joan Rivers, Jason Alexander and Jim Belushi, and many more (see schedule below). Happy Birthday, John Gallagher, Jr.! Gallagher originated the role of Moritz Stiefel in Spring Awakening on Broadway after performing the role Off-Broadway and in workshops at Lincoln Center. Gallagher won the 2007 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical for his performance.
In 2010, Gallagher starred in American Idiot, a musical based on the Green Day album of the same name, playing Johnny aka 'Jesus of Suburbia'. He most recently starred in the Broadway production of The Royal Court Theatre's Jerusalem. (more...)

Emily's Army Releases New Album LOST AT SEVENTEEN Today

East Bay punk band Emily's Army have released their sophomore album Lost At Seventeen. The album was recorded in Oakland, CA and produced by Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong. Lost At Seventeen focuses on the inescapable uncertainty we all feel as teenagers as best displayed in the title track 'Lost At 17' and single 'Avenue' which induce immediate nostalgia of what it feels like to have your whole life ahead of you. The album also addresses the nation's current political climate with the brash rocker 'I Am The President', in which vocalist Cole Becker proclaims 'Democrats, Republicans... Chirpify Moves Beyond PayPal, Launches Direct Payment Processing

Chirpify, the social commerce platform, today announced that members can now accept domestic and international credit and debit cards, as well as send and accept automated clearing house (ACH) payments, directly in-stream with a single comment on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram through Chirpify. Previously, Chirpify exclusively enabled in-stream payments via PayPal.

Internationally regarded rock band Green Day has contributed some massive, thrashing tunes to the annals of Broadway byway of AMERICAN IDIOT and the punk collective sang some of those famous songs as well as many from their upcoming three-part rock opera UNO!DOS!TRE! at a live gig this weekend. Free Electric Youth at Showcase Live Ticket Available with FSPA All Access Pass

Electric Youth (EY), the international touring ensemble of talented singer-dancers trained at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA), will take the stage at Showcase Live at Patriot Place in Foxboro on Sunday, June 16 at 6 p.m. FSPA is pleased to offer prospective students a complimentary ticket to the concert as part of the school's new All Access Pass program. (Children ages 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult at Showcase Live.) The concert provides students with the chance to experience the fun and excitement of the arts and live performance opportunities. Those interested in complimentary tickets should contact FSPA for more information and to schedule a free trial class or tour of the main facility in Franklin or satellite location in downtown Hudson. During the capacity-crowd reception, Ovations Members and their friends received the first look at the new season.
