Latin Recording Academy Names Miguel Bose 'Person of the Year'

Latin GRAMMY winner Miguel Bosé has been named the 2013 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year it was announced today by The Latin Recording Academy. Chosen for his philanthropic and professional accomplishments, Bosé will receive the honor at a star-studded concert and tribute gala on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The celebration will feature many songs from Bose's catalog performed by an impressive array of notable artists and friends. A portion of the net proceeds from the gala will benefit The Latin Recording Academy's outreach and education programs. The prestigious event will precede the 14th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, which will be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on the Univision Network on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. As the top recipient of the Cuyahoga County Arts and Culture's 'Creative Culture' grant, The Dancing Wheels Company will initiate a year-long campaign to bring new hope and a vision of possibility to those who have struggled with the indignities of bullying and other social injustices. The springboard for the campaign is the world premiere of Daring to be Dumbo, an eye-opening production performed by Dancing Wheels' dancers with and without disabilities and choreographed by the esteemed film maker, director and choreographer David Rousseve. Acclaimed, award winning Nashville songwriter and author Thornton Cline will be a featured speaker at the 2013 Winter NAMM Show (National Association of Music Merchants), held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Cline will give a presentation from his newly released, breakthrough book, Practice Personalities (Centerstream/Hal Leonard Publications) today, Jan. 27 at 3 p.m. The Winter NAMM Show is the largest music trade show in the world with more than 95,000 attendees from more than 90 countries. Lehman Center for the Performing Arts continues its 31st season with a night of dance hits on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 8pm. One of dance music's biggest stars for over three decades, GRAMMY Award winner Gloria Gaynor will perform with a full band. Her 1979 #1 hit, the greatest disco anthem of all time, "I Will Survive," is her signature song of inspiration that has touched the hearts of people all over the world. The song was inducted into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame at this year's ceremony in February. Urban and dance music phenomenon COLONEL ABRAMS will perform his biggest hits, including "Trapped," "I'm Not Gonna Let You" and "How Soon We Forget." Also performing will be THE HIT MEN, a group of six guys who made, played, sang and recorded the hits of the '60s, '70s and '80s. This group features original recording and performing members of such iconic bands as Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons and Tommy James and The Shondells and the original recording artists of such historic megahits as "Oh What a Night (Dec.
