American Composers Orchestra (ACO) presents Orchestra Underground: American Accounts on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 7:30pm at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall. The concert, led by ACO Music Director & Conductor George Manahan, explores uniquely American stories – both in musical content and in the background of the composers – and features works by Aaron Copland, Milton Babbitt, Gabriel Kahane, and Michael Daugherty. On February 16, 2012, Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) will welcome back its first music director, the visionary Sir Roger Norrington, in Haydn's Symphony No. 39 in G minor and Mozart's Symphony No. 39 in E-flat Major. Hailed by The New York Times as "a pianist you want to hear no matter what he performs," Jeremy Denk will make his OSL debut in Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major. (more...)
