YPO Continues In School Opera Program with THE PIED PIPER OF HAMELIN thru April 2014

The Young Patronesses of the Opera (YPO) organization will present the 39th season of their In School Opera program that reaches out to 30,000 school children in Dade and Broward counties. The 2014 tour began in January and will run until early April performing 'The Pied Piper of Hamelin' by Seymour Barab.

The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), North Miami, and Fontainebleau Miami Beach have commissioned British artist Tracey Emin to create new limited-edition works to commemorate Emin's first U.S. museum exhibition. Tracey Emin: Angel Without You will premiere at MOCA, North Miami on Dec. 4, 2013 as part of its Knight Exhibition Series and be on view through March 9, 2014. The items, which include a limited-edition beach towel, flip-flop sandals and T-shirt, will be available for purchase at the MOCA Shop and at Fontainebleau Miami Beach during Art Basel Miami Beach week in December. The products will also be available online at www.mocanomi.org and www.fontainebleaushop.com.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced Fasten Your Seatbelts (Part 2): 20th Century Fox (today, August 9-15), a summertime big screen showcase of some of the movie studio's most beloved and unforgettable films. Presented via DCP restorations and beautiful studio library 35mm prints, with a focus on a single artist and their creative contribution to each film, Fasten Your Seatbelts is sure to be a truly rare movie-going event. In the summer of 2010, FSLC presented the first Fasten Your Seatbelts series to coincide with and celebrate 20th Century Fox's 75th Anniversary. The popularity of that series, including screenings of classics like ALL ABOUT EVE, M*A*S*H and ALIEN all but demanded that Film Society and the studio present a 'sequel' at some point.

On December 2, 1988, THE NAKED GUN: FROM THE FILES OF HTE POLICE SQUAD! was released in theaters. The commercially and critically successful film, starring the late Leslie Nielsen, was based upon the extremely short-lived ABC comedy POLICE SQUAD! from 1982.

Casting is announced for Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater's production of Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN. Artistic Director Molly Smith helms this classic family musical, which stars the previously announced Kate Baldwin (Tony Award nominee for Broadway's Finian's Rainbow) as Marian the librarian, who will be joined by Burke Moses (original Gaston in Broadway's Beauty and the Beast) as Harold Hill. The Music Man runs May 11-July 22, 2012 in the Fichandler Stage.

Singer/actress Jan Daley will perform her one-woman show Where There's Hope at The Arthur Newman Theatre at The Joslyn Center in Palm Desert on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 2 PM as part of Les Michaels' Life Is A Cabaret Sunday Series. Joining Jan Daley will be musical director David Cohen on the piano. The show will feature many standards from the Great American Songbook that Ms. Daley performed throughout her career, especially those highlighted by her USO tours with Bob Hope entertaining more than 40,000 GI's.
