On 5 July, the National Arts Festival's Arena Programme will host the world premiere of AS EVER, BESSIE - a poignant story that has been left untold, until now. Written and directed by Bobbie Fitchen, the play will have two special preview performances at the Galloway Theatre prior to its bow at the festival.

The sale is today, November 14, 2014 and is a major Men's Arts Council fundraiser for Phoenix Art Museum with proceeds assisting the museum with the acquisition of Western American art and general operations. The exhibition will be at the museum from November 14 to December 28, 2014.

The 1980 Broadway production was directed by Robert Allan Ackerman, scenery by Santo Loquasto, costumes by Robert Wojewodski, lighting by Arden Fingerhut, and music by Stanley Silverman. The show featured Richard Gere as Max, David Marshall Grant as Rudy,James Remar as Wolf, Michael Gross as Greta, George Hall as Uncle Freddie, Bryan E. Clark as Officer, David Dukes as Horst, Ron Randell as Captain, and the Guards were Kai Wulff, Philip Kraus, and John Snyder. Check out a photo of the marquee below!

A new opera based on the life of tabloid queen Anna Nicole Smith opened at Royal Opera House yesterday,February 17. The show, entitled ANNA NICOLE is described on their website as 'a celebrity story of our times that includes extreme language, drug abuse and sexual content,' and imposed a minimum age of 16. This new opera is provocative in its themes, exciting in its bravura style and thrilling with its sheer contemporary nerve,' it added in language normally reserved for reality TV. Dell'Arte Opera Ensemble presents one of Mozart's last works. This stirring work - originally set in Imperial Rome after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius - now takes place in the guarded corners of an unnamed military dictatorship, but the concept of the dark dealings of political leaders altering the world stage is all too timely in any location.
