Cinedigm Picks Up VISITORS from Godfrey Reggio, Philip Glass, & Jon Kane

Cinedigm (CIDM) has acquired all North American distribution rights to 'VISITORS,' the new film from director Godfrey Reggio, composer Philip Glass and filmmaker Jon Kane. Seven years in the making, VISITORS is the fourth film that Reggio and Glass have collaborated on following the groundbreaking, internationally acclaimed, Qatsi Trilogy formed by the films Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, and Naqoyqatsi. Cinedigm plans to release VISITORS theatrically in 4K throughout Fall 2013 following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival where members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra will perform Glass's score live. School of Visual Arts (SVA) announced the winners of its 2013 Dusty Film & Animation Festival and Awards, now in its 24th year, at an awards ceremony held May 7, 2013 at New York City's SVA Theatre (333 W. 23rd Street). Highlighting the work of more than 150 filmmakers and animators graduating from the BFA Film, Video and Animation Department, the annual awards were bestowed at the invite-only event. Cinedigm Scores Rights to Offbeat Assassin Flick VIOLET & DAISY

Cinedigm Entertainment Group, a division of Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. (NASDAQ: CIDM), has acquired North American distribution rights to writer-director Geoffrey Fletcher's VIOLET & DAISY, which world premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival. Fletcher recently earned the Cinevation Award for his work on VIOLET & DAISY at the 2012 Savannah Film Festival. Cinedigm's theatrical distribution will commence in 2013, with subsequent roll out across on-demand, digital and DVD.

Tatiana Maslany Cast in BBC America's ORPHAN BLACK

Toronto International Film Festival®(TIFF) breakout talent, Tatiana Maslany (Picture Day, The Vow), has been cast to star in the new original series Orphan Black, produced by Temple Street Productions for BBC AMERICA and Canadian cable channel, SPACE. The announcement was made as Maslany was feted for her starring role in the feature Picture Day, which made its world premiere at this year's festival. The Genie and Gemini-nominated actor, who received the 2010 Sundance special jury prize for Grown Up Movie Star, is capturing the increasing attention of fans and industry elite alike - including recent critical acclaim from The Globe and Mail, Toronto Sun, and NOW Magazine. Set to begin production in Toronto this October, additional casting for the 10 episode series will be announced soon.
