Falcon Theatre Announces Extension for BILLY & RAY by BWW News Desk - Apr 17, 2013
Falcon Theatre has extended the world premiere of Billy & Ray through May 5. Written by Mike Bencivenga and directed by Garry Marshall, the play tells the incredible true story of how Billy Wilder and Raymond Chandler wrote the screenplay for Double Indemnity, invented film noir and nearly killed each other in the process. The Hollywood Networking Breakfast (HNB) was founded on the Paramount Studios Lot in 1993 by Sandra Lord, as a means to providing opportunities for industry professionals and emerging talent. Paramount Studios served as the event's home base for almost 12 years. Some of the most respected individuals, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, have offered patrons insight and advice. Backstage named the HNB "The Best Networking Event in L.A." in its "Best of LA" issue, a title that has continued to hold true. BILLY & RAY Begins 3/27 at Falcon Theatre by BWW News Desk - Feb 14, 2013
Falcon Theatre will present the world premiere of Billy & Ray, the final production of the Falcon Theatre's 2012-2013 Subscription Season. This exciting Hollywood story is written by Mike Bencivenga, an Emmy-winning producer whose plays and films include Happy Hour and Single Bullet Theory, and is directed by the Falcon's own Garry Marshall, whose impressive writing and directing career includes television and film classics such as Happy Days and Pretty Woman as well as his own stage plays Wrong Turn at Lungfish and Everybody Say "Cheese!". The Blank Theatre's Young Playwrights Festival is seeking submissions nationwide from playwrights 19 years of age and younger. The submission deadline is March 15, 2013.
