ACT Announces Extension for BLACK WATCH by BWW News Desk - Apr 22, 2013
American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today that their highly anticipated production of the National Theatre of Scotland's internationally acclaimed production of Black Watch has extended its run at The Drill Court at the Armory Community Center (333 14th Street, between Mission and Valencia) through Sunday, June 16. The production was originally scheduled to run through Sunday, June 9. Tickets for all performances are on sale now and may be purchased online at act-sf.org or by calling 415.749.2228. (more...)

CTC Production of Dr. Seuss' THE CAT IN THE HAT Continues at Manitoba Theatre for Young People, 12/7-21 by BWW

Continuing in the tradition of creating original work by Dr. Seuss, CTC presented the U.S. premiere of the National Theatre of Great Britain's adaptation of Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat in what the Star Tribune in Minneapolis called a "festive feeding of children's imaginations." CTC has accepted an invitation to bring their acclaimed production of Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat to the Manitoba Theatre for Young People in Winnipeg (Canada) December 7-21, 2012 immediately following its run here in the Twin Cities. In keeping with the trans-Atlantic relationship, Chicago Shakespeare and Scotland's theater community are engaged in a cultural exchange-one CST production, The Q Brothers' Othello: The Remix, is now playing to wildly enthusiastic response at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the very festival that launched two critically acclaimed National Theatre of Scotland (NTS) productions that are slated for Chicago Shakespeare's fall 2012 World's Stage series: The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart, and the return engagement of Black Watch. Sarah Hadland and Dean Lennox Kelly feature among the ensemble cast of a new comedy by award-winning playwright Michael Wynne in which three couples attempt to get away from the stresses and dilemmas of modern life on a camping trip.
