Image Entertainment Aquires LAST LOVE with Michael Caine

Image Entertainment, an RLJ Entertainment (NASDAQ: RLJE) brand, has acquired all U.S. rights to the romantic drama Last Love, based on Francoise Dorner's French novel La Douceur Assassine. Starring Oscar winner Michael Caine (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception), who recently signed on to star in Interstellar his 6th Christopher Nolan film, Last Love is written and directed by Sandra Nettelbeck, and co-stars Clemence Poesy (In Bruges, 127 Hours), Justin Kirk (Goats, Showtime's 'Weeds'), Gillian Anderson (The X Files) and Jane Alexander (Dream House, Terminator Salvation). Garret Dillahunt ('Raising Hope'), Tom Felton (Harry Potter), and Jake Abel (The Host) are set to star in GHOSTS OF THE PACIFIC, the true story of three WWII Navy flyers cast adrift on the South Pacific in 1942. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Downton Abbey's creator Julian Fellowes is currently in the process of writing the book for an upcoming musical version of the Oscar-winning 2008 film 'Slumdog Millionaire.' Though Ghost and Matitlda's Matthew Warchus was previously rumored to direct the project, the New York Post now writes that he is 'no longer in the mix.' (more...)

THE 69th ANNUAl GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS will be hosted by Ricky Gervais on Sunday, January 15, 2012.
