Peter Pan Goes Wrong takes its final bow at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre following 38 previews and 111 regular performances; Camelot will conclude its run at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre following 38 previews and 116 regular performances; Life of Pi wraps up at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre following 22 previews and 133 regular performances.

IATSE was able to notch a win for their members this week as a new touring contract was ratified. However, the news wasn’t all bright in the theatre world as the Public Theater became the latest major institution to announce layoffs of their staff - laying off 19%, and announcing a deeper restriction on programming for next season.

OPERA America Awards Deborah Brevoort The Annual Campbell Opera Librettist Prize

OPERA America has announced the 2023 Campbell Opera Librettist Prize recipient, Deborah Brevoort. Conceived and funded by acclaimed librettist and lyricist Mark Campbell, the Prize is the first award in the history of American opera created specifically to honor the work of opera librettists. The annual winner receives an award of $7,000 to support creative development and career advancement.
CAMELOT on Broadway Sets July Closing

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that its acclaimed new version of Lerner & Loewe’s CAMELOT will end its run at the Vivian Beaumont Theater on Sunday, July 23, at which point it will have played a total of 153 performances (38 previews and 115 regular performances).
