The Public Theater announced the return of PUBLIC SINGS! tonight March 5, 2012, an unforgettable evening that celebrates the rich history of musicals produced by The Public Theater, including HAIR, A Chorus Line, and Caroline, or Change, as well as new musicals in development like February House premiering at The Public this May. This intimate evening at Joes Pub will welcome to the stage many popular Public Theater and Joes Pub artists, including Laura Benanti, David Byrne, Raul Esparza, Jesse L. Martin, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Steven Pasquale, as well as offer a sneak peak at upcoming musicals. PUBLIC SINGS! tickets can be purchased by calling the Development Office at (212) 539-8554.

The Public Theater announced today that Alan Cumming, Montego Glover, Gabriel Kahane, Ethan Lipton, Kelli OHara, and Benjamin Walker would join the star-studded PUBLIC SINGS! benefit on Monday, March 5 at Joes Pub. This unforgettable evening will celebrate the rich history of musicals produced by The Public Theater, including HAIR, A Chorus Line, and Caroline, or Change, as well as new musicals in development like February House premiering at The Public this May. Directed by Daisy Prince with musical direction by Chris Fenwick, this one-night-only event will also include the previously announced Laura Benanti, David Byrne, Raul Esparza, Jesse L. But nowhere will it be more Emerald Green that at the Ivoryton Playhouse when the 100th birthday season opens on March 16th with Frank McCourt's perennially popular The Irish...and How They Got That Way. First produced at the Playhouse in 2007, the show was such a tremendous success that extra performances had to be added and we are thrilled to bring it back as part of our Centennial year. ( more...)
