The Public Theater announced the return of PUBLIC SINGS! tonight March 5, 2012, an unforgettable evening that celebrates the rich history of musicals produced by The Public Theater, including HAIR, A Chorus Line, and Caroline, or Change, as well as new musicals in development like February House premiering at The Public this May. This intimate evening at Joe’s Pub will welcome to the stage many popular Public Theater and Joe’s Pub artists, including Laura Benanti, David Byrne, Raul Esparza, Jesse L. The new musical stage comedy LUDWIG LIVE! will make its Philadelphia premiere for a limited engagement Jan. 12 – 29 at the Kimmel Center’s Innovation Studio. Dressed in period regalia and esconsed behind a grand piano, Ludwig van Beethoven will entertain audiences with his swinging new ‘lounge act.’ The press opening will be Jan. 13 at 8:00 pm. (more...)

The long winter is almost over and the green of spring is showing up all over the Shoreline. But nowhere will it be more Emerald Green that at the Ivoryton Playhouse when the 100th birthday season opens on March 16th with Frank McCourt's perennially popular The Irish...and How They Got That Way. First produced at the Playhouse in 2007, the show was such a tremendous success that extra performances had to be added and we are thrilled to bring it back as part of our Centennial year. (more...)

In June, 2011, The Ivoryton Playhouse reaches its 100th birthday. 100 years of hosting dances and town meetings, producing great theatre, discovering movie stars and great directors and perhaps even the stars of tomorrow. The 2011 season - the Centennial Celebration - will build on this success and provide audiences with musicals and plays that reflect the unique history. (more...)
