The production is adapted and directed by Lifeline Theatre ensemble member Frances Limoncelli (three-time Non-Equity Jeff Award-winning adaptor), with music and lyrics by George Howe. Is her sleuthing enough to apprehend the villain? And where is Lord Peter when she really needs him? Producing Artistic Director Scott Nolte directs Frances Limoncelli's adaptation of Gaudy Night, which opened last night, September 21 and runs through October 20. This year's Festival will begin July 9th and continue through July 29th. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) today announced the selections for the 2012 Next Link Project, NYMF's primary writer service program. The Next Link Project empowers emerging musical theatre writing teams as both artists and entrepreneurs by providing the training and relationships needed to help them move their musicals from readings to fully-realized productions and to advance their careers by maximizing the exposure they receive in the Festival. Taproot Theatre Company is excited to announce the lineup for its 36th season, a year packed with comedy, classics and romance. The season features two regional premieres, a comedic road trip with the family, and a musical full of nostalgia and harmony. Taproot Theatre's Company's 2012 Season runs from January through October. The resubscription period is currently underway, with subscriptions opening to the general public on October 3. (more...)
