Netflix has unveiled the teaser trailer for Maestro, the new Leonard Bernstein film starring, written, and directed by Bradley Cooper. Maestro is Cooper's second film following A Star Is Born and also stars Carey Mulligan, Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke, Sarah Silverman, Josh Hamilton, Scott Ellis, Gideon Glick, Miriam Shor, and more. Maestro, the Leonard Bernstein biopic starring Bradley Cooper, will premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Directed by Cooper, the film also stars Carey Mulligan, Matt Bomer, and Maya Hawke. The film is produced by Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Kristie Macosko Krieger, Bradley Cooper, Fred Berner, and Amy Durning.

They will join the women previously announced to receive Crystal Awards—”Abbott Elementary” creator Quinta Brunson, “The Woman King” director Gina Prince-Bythewood, and “Don’t Worry Darling” writer and director Katie Silberman and Olivia Wilde—as well as Jane Fonda Humanitarian Award recipient Michaela Coel.

GREAT-NIECE OF FELICIA MONTEALEGRE (LEONARD BERNSTEIN'S WIFE) SHINES IN 'EVA LUNA' at Repertorio Español. Eva Luna is an Isabel Allende's novel re-imagined for the stage by OBIE-winning playwright Caridad Svich. This play tells the coming-of-age story of EVA LUNA, a woman born into poverty who rises up through the world to find her voice as a storyteller and a reflector of history.

Sarah Silverman will join the previously announced Cooper, Carey Mulligan, Matt Bomer and Maya Hawke in the cast. Cooper developed the new biopic together with Leonard Bernstein’s family. Maestro is Cooper's follow-up to his directorial debut, A Star is Born.

Matt Bomer will reportedly play one of Leonard Bernstein's lovers. He joins the previously announced Bradley Cooper, who will direct and play Bernstein, and Carey Mulligan, who will play Felicia Montealegre, Bernstein's wife. Cooper will also write the script with Josh Singer.

Bradley Cooper has confirmed that his upcoming Leonard Bernstein biopic, Maestro, is set to begin filming in May. Cooper will direct and star in the upcoming film, also featuring Carey Mulligan as Felicia Montealegre, Bernstein's wife. Bernstein has conducted works such as West Side Story, Peter Pan, Candide, Wonderful Town, On the Town, and more.

Carey Mulligan has been cast as Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein, the wife of legendary composer Leonard Bernstein, in Bradley Cooper's upcoming biopic 'Maestro.'

Netflix has acquired all rights to Bradley Cooper's untitled Leonard Bernstein film, according to Deadline.  Cooper will direct, star in and produce the film from the script he co-wrote with Josh Singer. Cooper has been working closely with Bernstein's children, Jamie, Alexander and Nina, for the past two years on the film.

In 1958 Leonard Bernstein revolutionized music education through the medium of television with his famed Young People's Concerts shown on CBS. A few years later, in 1964 David D. Greer, an organist and choirmaster at the West End Presbyterian Church noticed that many neighborhood children (Bloomingdale District) seemed to have nothing to do and so began the Bloomingdale School of Music. Greer first began by offering Saturday morning classes for as little as 50 cents to community residents and now 53 years later under the direction of only it's third Executive Director, Erika Floreska, the school is still committed to the notion that music has the power to change people's lives and that all people should have access to high quality music instruction and performance.

Jamie Bernstein, daughter of composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein, will serve as the Tucson Desert Song Festival's (TDSF) Artist-in-Residence for 2018. Ms. Bernstein, a narrator, writer and broadcaster, will share insights and memories of her father and his work and will provide context to help understand the complex life and career of Leonard Bernstein.

HB Studio, one of New York's legendary institutions for theater training and practice, this winter offers musical theater performers the opportunity to study 'The Musical Theater Works of Leonard Bernstein' in a five week masterclass led by Broadway Director Lonny Price.

Leonard Bernstein was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He took piano lessons as a boy and attended the Garrison and Boston Latin Schools. At Harvard University, he studied with Walter Piston, Edward Burlingame-Hill, and A. Tillman Merritt, among others. Before graduating in 1939, he made an unofficial conducting debut with his own incidental music to 'The Birds,' and directed and performed in Marc Blitzstein's 'The Cradle Will Rock.' Then at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, he studied piano with Isabella Vengerova, conducting with Fritz Reiner, and orchestration with Randall Thompson.

The Guardian writes that a new collection of letters by famed composer Leonard Bernstein -- Nigel Simeone's Leonard Bernstein Letters, set to debut next month -- reveal the composer's 'hostility' for WEST SIDE STORY book writer Arthur Laurents. Bernstein even considered walking away from the project, according to one of the letters.
