Recorded over the course of eight nights in front of a live-in-studio audience at Dallas’ Deep Ellum Art Company, Empire Central consists of 16 all-new tracks heavily influenced by and paying homage to the city that gave birth to the group after they formed while studying in the fabled jazz program at the University of North Texas.

RCA Records drops Doja Cat’s melodic, bouncy new single “Vegas” from the ELVIS Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The soundtrack is set to be released the same date as Baz Luhrmann’s forthcoming film ELVIS, starring Austin Butler and Tom Hanks. The track incorporates “Hound Dog” in a unique, singular way that only Doja Cat could ever do.

Ravinia Festival is pleased to announce an expanded summer series on its Carousel stage following a successful inaugural year in 2021. The Carousel stage on the North Lawn offers casual, general admission seating for individual events, and, new this year, will host opening acts for several Pavilion headliners during the summer season, which runs from May 20 through September 18.

SISTAS THE MUSICAL has announced its return on April 2 at Off-Broadway's The Actors Temple Theatre for an open-ended run. This live musical production is written by Fulbright Scholar and Columbia University professor Dr. Dorothy Marcic, based on interviews with Black women over several years

A total of $90,000 in grants is being awarded to 46 Black creatives in the greater Philadelphia area by the Black Music City project, it was announced today.

Funk, jazz, electronic and hip-hop collective Jack Keller's Ethereal Cereal will present a tribute to “The Music of Roy Ayers” as part of Odyssey Theatre Ensemble's ongoing “Music at the Odyssey” series. One performance only is set for Friday, February 25 at 8 p.m. at the Odyssey Theatre, a three-theater complex located in a converted West Los Angeles warehouse.
