A closed reading was just held for Excalibur, featuring music by Frank Wildhorn, a book by Ivan Menchell, lyrics by Robin Lerner, and orchestrations by Koen Schoots. Directed by Francesca Zambello, the show was commissioned by Werner Signer of Theater St. Gallen, in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Opening night will be in March 2014. (more...)

Award-winning composer Jeremy Schonfeld (Drift, 37 Notebooks) has announced that Broadway's own Titus Burgess (Jersey Boys, The Little Mermaid), Adam Kantor (Rent) and Morgan James (Godspell, Motown) are many performers from the worlds of Broadway, television and music who will take the stage with him for the one night only event "JEREMY SCHONFELD & THE BROADWAY MESSIAHS" on Monday January 28th at the newly re-designed Cutting Room recently reopened at its new location (44 East 32nd Street, New York, NY) at 7:30 PM (doors open at 7:00 PM). Two musicals which first firmly planted their roots in Chicago around 15 years ago achieved great acclaim on Broadway and elsewhere, and yet have never been far from our stages or our consciousness in Chicago. Both are about race relations in earlier times, and both continue to resonate with great success here. THE 101 DALMATIANS MUSICAL to Hold Auditions for Dogs at MSG, 2/11

101 DALMATIANS MUSICAL will hold auditions for dogs to win a barking role in the production which will play the Theatre at Madison Square Garden from April 7 to 18, 2010. Auditions will be held on Thursday, February 11 from 2-3 and will be open to the first 101 dog owners to register their dogs. A panel of judges, including members of the musical cast will be on hand to determine the winner. (more...)
