Coyote StageWorks, the Coachella Valley-based award winning Actors Equity professional theater company, announced that it won a total of nine  awards from the Desert Theatre Leaguea's annual awards announcement on October 4th, the most awards presented to a professional theater company. Coyote StageWorks had been nominated for 28 awards, many for the production of a A Doll's House, Part 2 by Lucas Hnath, which ran from February 7 though 16 at the Palm Springs Cultural Center, and their popular Barbara Keller Playdate Series of staged readings. Coyote StageWorks has now received an impressive 89 Desert Theatre League Awards since it was founded.

Oregon Children's Theatre has announced plans for its 2020-2021 season, 'A Season Reimagined.' Though the organization will not produce in-person performances through at least May 2021 following local and national safety guidelines surrounding COVID-19, it will produce unique online productions and co-produced performances.

BATa??s 2020 Shelter-in-place Season II consists of five plays read during September through December 2020. These are amazing plays that would normally be on BAT's main stage. But COVID-19 changed things.

The first play in the series was IT HAD TO BE YOU, written by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna, on Sunday, September 6 at 6pm. This delightful comedy, directed by Gary Kresca, shares a fantasy story created by Theda Blau (Jessica Plotin), a failed actress, health food nut, and would-be playwright who wants to find love and success in New York. After an audition, the totally unprepared Theda meets Vito Pignoli (Steve Oreste), a hugely successful TV commercial director who had been sitting quietly in the booth listening to her jabber uncontrollably, her flighty nature both a turn-on and turn-off.

First Stage, one of the nation's leading theaters for young people and families, has announced Through Our Lens - A First Stage Virtual Performance Series which will offer streaming plays, short-form episodic performances, new play readings and other signature theater events shared exclusively online.

Florida Repertory Theatre's Education Department has announced in-person classes for September and October featuring limited class sizes and enhanced safety measures. In addition to the safety measures, the classes will be held outdoors in order to keep both the instructors and students safe and healthy.

Mid-Michigan's award-winning professional theatre company, Williamston Theatre, located at 122 S. Florida Repertory Theatre's 2019 PlayLab Festival of New Works kicks off April 30 with readings of six new plays, including one commissioned by Florida Rep for its popular Education Conservatory Program. Directed by Chuck Yates, The Velocity of Autumn swirls around Alexandra, an 80-year-old artist in a showdown with her family over where she'll spend her remaining years. In Alexandra's corner are her wit, her volcanic passion, and the fact that she's barricaded herself in her Brooklyn brownstone with enough Molotov cocktails to take out the block.

Pear Theatre announces its 19th season, full of reimagined classics and intriguing new works. All performances are held at the Pear Theatre's performance space at 1110 La Avenida St., Mountain View. Each show offers a preview performance on the first Thursday, followed by Press/Opening Night on Friday.
