STAGE TUBE: On This Day 10/23- PIPPIN

Today in 1972, Pippin opened at the Imperial Theatre, where it ran for 1944 performances. Pippin is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Roger O. Hirson. Bob Fosse, who directed the original Broadway production, also contributed to the libretto. The musical uses the premise of a mysterious acting troupe, led by a Leading Player, to tell the story of Pippin, a young prince on his search for meaning and significance. The original cast included: Eric Berry, Jill Clayburgh, Leland Palmer, Irene Ryan, Ben Vereen, and John Rubinstein.

Everyman Theatre Announces Updated Thanksgiving Week Schedule

Everyman Theatre has announced its Thanksgiving Week schedule of performances for its production of the Tony Award-winning play Redby John Logan. The week will consist of added performances on Tuesday, November 26th and no performances on Thanksgiving.

Everyman Theatre is pleased to announce that an extra week of performances will be added to its production of the Tony Award-winning play, Red. The production will now run from November 6th through December 8th. The production features City Paper Best Actor Bruce Randolph Nelson as artist Mark Rothko and international performer Eric Berryman as his apprentice, Ken.

Everyman Theatre Announces Directors for 2012-13 Season Productions

Everyman Theatre has announced the directors attached to each of its six productions in the 2012/13 season. Founding Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi will helm two productions during the landmark season, including August: Osage County, which will be the first production at Everyman's new location on Fayette Street in January, 2013. The season will include two productions at the theatre's current location on Charles Street, followed by four productions at the new location on Fayette Street.
