The Academy of Vocal Arts (AVA) has unveiled details for BrAVA Philadelphia! in celebration of its historic 85th Anniversary. On Saturday, March 28, 2020, AVA will present BrAVA Philadelphia!, a spectacular concert of opera stars at 'The Met Philadelphia', the beautifully restored opera house on North Broad Street.

Making their U.S. debut, the Four Italian Tenors bring some of Italy's greatest music to life inViva Italia! at Popejoy Hall on Sunday, November 10 at 3 pm. Featuring fan-favorite arias from the world-renowned operas of Puccini, Donzetti, Verdi, and Rossini to infamous songs such as a?oeAve Maria,a?? a?oeFuniculi, Funicula,a?? and a?oeO Sole Mio,a?? these tenors bring passion and culture to center stage.

Single tickets for most individual shows performing at Popejoy Hall this season will go on sale Friday, September 27, 2019 at 10am. Tickets will be available for all Ovation Series productions, except The Book of Mormon. Currently, tickets are available to Swan Lake and Jesus Christ Superstar.

For the first time in the United States, the Four Italian Tenors will perform the greatest Tenor Arias and Songs of all time, in wonderful unique arrangements, created particularly for their U.S. Debut Tour. The quartet will make a stop at the State Theatre on Friday, October 11th.

Maine State Music Theatre (MSMT) presents Robin and Clark's Snow White. This 50-minute musical version of the fairy tale runs June 12th and June 15th, 2019. There will be performances on both days at 10 am and 1 pm.

On March 3, 2019 at 4 pm, guests had the extraordinary opportunity to visit the Perry Belmont House at 1618 New Hampshire Ave NW. The house is on the official 'Hidden History of Washington DC' list of the Architect of the Capital. Built at the end of the Gilded Age (in 1907) by Perry Belmont, who served in Congress and also as an ambassador to Spain. It reflects the immense wealth and European taste of the age. It was used primarily for entertaining during the Washington social season when the Congressman and his wife were in town, although the Perry's were also at the forefront of societal change such as the suffragette movement. The architecture and furnishings are nothing short of sensational, as shown here.

Talents of the World announces its First International Music Festival at Carnegie Hall!

The Front Porch Arts Collective partners with the Lyric Stage Company to start their second season with BREATH & IMAGINATION, Daniel Beaty's musical about Roland Hayes. First-time director Maurice Emmanuel Parent draws tour de force performance from Davron S. Monroe as the acclaimed African-American opera singer, with strong support from Yewande Odetoyinbo, Doug Gerber, and Nile Scott Hawver.

Italian Tenor Pasquale Esposito returns to The Annenberg Theatre, located at The Palm Springs Arts Museum, for his fifth appearance on December 7 at 8:00 pm. The concert celebrates Italian Piazzas and is the live version of his newest PBS special. I had the opportunity to catch up with Mr. Esposito as he was preparing for his Palm Springs concert. The Verdi Chorus 35th anniversary season culminates with its Fall 2018 concert Passione! Opera! for two performances only at the First United Methodist Church in Santa Monica on November 10 and 11 led by Founding Artistic Director Anne Marie Ketchum. As the only choral group in Southern California that focuses primarily on the dramatic and diverse music for opera chorus, this program, which marks the end of a landmark year for the company, will feature selections from three Verdi operas - Aida, Don Carlo, and the famed chorus "Va, pensiero," from Nabucco, as well as operatic sequences from Boito's Mefistofele, Saint-Saens' Samson and Delilah, Catalani's La Wally and Offenbach's The Tales of Hoffmann.
