Tony Award winner Brent Carver is set to star in JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival beginning May 14. The musical revue features the songs of Belgian singer-songwriter Jacques Brel. This production will be directed by Stafford Arima. Tony Award nominated actress and singer Anita Gillette will return to her hometown of Baltimore to host a workshop based on her one-woman show, After All, for a single performance on Friday, May 14, as part of the UB Spotlight performance series. Gillette's mix of songs and stories will begin at 7 p.m. in the UB Student Center Performing Arts Theater, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave. It will be followed by a special Q&A and a reception. (more...)

Elly Stone, Eric Blau's widow, announced that a memorial will be held on Thursday, March 5th at the Plaza Jewish Community Chapel (630 Amsterdam at 91st Street) at 1:30 p.m. Producers and performers of his various works, including cast members of his musical, Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, as well as friends and fans are expected to attend.
