Boston Court Pasadena continues their 2019 theatre season with the world premiere of Kit Steinkellner's Ladies, directed by Jessica Kubzansky, May 24 - June 30 (press opening: June 1). Ladies features Meghan Andrews (Elizabeth Montagu), Carie Kawa (Elizabeth Carter), Jully Lee (Fanny Burney), and Tracey A. Leigh (Angelica Kauffman).

The Walt Disney Company's highly anticipated Investor Day provided an extensive overview of Disney's comprehensive direct-to-consumer strategy, and included presentations on Hulu, Hotstar, ESPN+ and the upcoming Disney+ service, which will launch in the U.S. market on November 12, 2019, at $6.99 a month. The service will offer fans of all ages a new way to experience the unparalleled content from the company's iconic entertainment brands, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic, and will be available on connected TV and mobile devices.

Last night, the Critics' Choice Awards were announced. Taking home the top prize of Best Picture was Roma. Also, in a surprising turn of events, both Lady Gaga and Glenn Close took home the award for Best Actress, for A Star is Born and The Wife, respectively.

Facebook has announced the renewal of four Facebook Watch shows for a second season: Five Points, Huda Boss, Sacred Lies and Sorry For Your Loss.

This morning, Film Independent announced that Aubrey Plaza (Ingrid Goes West, Legion, Parks & Recreation) will host the 2019 Film Independent Spirit Awards. The Spirit Awards are the primary fundraiser for Film Independent's year-round programs, which cultivate the careers of emerging filmmakers and promote diversity in the industry. Nominees were announced by Gemma Chan (Crazy Rich Asians, Captain Marvel, Mary Queen of Scots) and Molly Shannon (Divorce, Private Life, Other People) at a press conference on November 16. Best Feature nominees include Eighth Grade, First Reformed, If Beale Street Could Talk, Leave No Trace and You Were Never Really Here. The show will broadcast live exclusively on IFC at 2:00 pm PT/ 5:00 pm ET on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

Boston Court Pasadena will bring another daring year of theater and music events to Southern California for their 2019 season, and welcomes the S. Mark Taper Foundation as sponsor of the 2019 theater season. Artistic Directors Jessica Kubzansky, Michael Michetti and Mark Saltzman have programmed more than 100 performances of music and theater on two stages, continuing the company's dedication to new work, reimagined classics, and both emerging and established artists.

Josh Brolin (Thanos), Chris Evans (Captain America), and Tom Hiddleston (Loki), stars of the worldwide hit Avengers film franchise, are headlining ACE Comic Con Midwest at Chicago's Navy Pier, October 12-13-14, 2018.  Zazie Beetz (Domino), Tom Ellis (Lucifer), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), and Lee Pace (Ronan the Accuser) round out the current lineup. Boston Court Pasadena announced the full details of its 14th annual New Play Reading Festival, July 19 - 28.  Curated by Literary Manager Emilie Beck, in concert with Artistic Directors Jessica Kubzansky and Michael Michetti, the New Play Reading Festival is a key component of Boston Court Pasadena's commitment to nurturing playwrights and new work, and continues the company's core mission of developing and programming works that are inherently theatrical, textually rich, and visually arresting. This year's Festival features four female playwrights.
